The International Aroid Society (IAS) thrives because of passionate volunteers who generously contribute their time, energy, and expertise. Volunteers play a vital role in advancing our mission to promote and share knowledge about aroids, making a tangible impact in our global community.

Our Committees


  • Aroid Cultivar Registry: Manage the cultivar registry, handle inquiries, and keep our community updated.
  • Awards & Grants: Oversee applications, awards, and inspire contributions from recipients.
  • Chapters: Assist in forming and supporting local and regional IAS chapters.
  • Education: Create and distribute educational resources on aroids and taxonomy.
  • Events: Plan and execute engaging IAS events like our Annual Expo.
  • Marketing: Share the IAS story, increase our reach through social media and outreach.
  • Website: Ensure our website is a robust resource for our community through ongoing updates and enhancements.
