The April 2005 issue of the IAS Newsletter (Vol. 27, No. 2) opens with Part I of Dr. Thomas Croat’s field report on the July 6–August 5, 2004 Ecuador expedition, detailing Araceae collections across diverse Andean and Amazonian sites. Dan H. Nicolson reviews a landmark study on Early Cretaceous Araceae pollen from Portugal. A “Revisions for Sale” section lists recent monographs available from Missouri Botanical Garden. Albert Huntington explores the culinary uses and preparation of konnyaku from Amorphophallus konjac. Nicolson offers a second book review on Josef Bogner’s illustrated volume on Madagascan aroids.
